

All incoming projects are processed through our MagnaFlux wet mag operation. Each crank is checked with two types of magnetism to insure all defects are identified. Should a questionable defect be identified we are capable of e-mailing you detailed high resolution photos. Every project is subjected to multiple Mag-inspections before final inspection and release.
Your crankshaft can easily be Ion Nitrided while at Shaftech. Our Ion Nitride process produces a deep layer of compressive stresses that significantly improve fatigue strength. In addition to greater durability a hard wear layer is generated guaranteeing a surface that will not wear, even in harsh environments.
The true measure of a surface is its ability to interact with it’s mating counterpart. We are consistently measuring and monitoring our highly refined surface finishes. Your crank will be returned with journal surfaces having 96% or higher “Bearing Ratios” and consistent textures < 2Ra
Complete journal restoration is possible on sound shafts. Your crankshaft can be returned to its original geometry with our proven methods. Through the use of TIG and Submerged Arc welding processes everything from minor impact damage to complete journal and thrust restorations are possible.
Experienced, skilled and dedicated to perfection, our grinding experts produce consistent quality. We measure not only simple diameter and roundness, but journal cylindericity and parallel as well. Your crankshaft will be sized to certified masters insuring consistency.
Custom balancing to your specific Bob Weight can be easily performed at Shaftech. Specialty services including the installation of tungsten heavy metal or complete balancing without drilling are available. We are comfortable with various crankshaft designs from V6, V8 and V12 to all inline configurations.
